Kenya Electricity Generating Company PLC, KenGen  was incorporated on 1 February 1954 under the Companies Act (Chapter 486 of the Laws of Kenya) as Kenya Power Company (KPC) to construct the transmission line between Nairobi and Tororo in Uganda as well as to develop geothermal and other generating facilities in the country.

General Manager, Finance, KGN 2

Job Summary

Reporting to the Managing Director & CEO, the position is responsible for establishing and implementing the company’s financial strategy and policies to ensure compliance, financial sustainability, and overall corporate health.

Job Description

  • Develop and oversee strategic initiatives and Service Level Agreements for Finance
  • Manage financing needs by establishing optimal funding structures.
  • Oversee financial reporting to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Guide budgeting processes and ensure adherence to financial covenants.
  • Provide accurate cost data to support cost reduction and tariff decisions.

Manager, Enterprise Risk Management, KGN 3 (Re-advertisement)

Job Summary

Reporting to the Managing Director and functionally to the ARC Committee of the Board, the job holder is responsible for coordinating and implementing the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Policy and Framework, ensuring the identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting of risks while promoting a strong risk culture and compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards.

  • Review and implement ERM policies, frameworks, and strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with PFM Act, ISO 9001:2015, ISO 31000:2009, and other regulatory requirements.

  • Develop, implement and review Company’s diversification Policy and Strategies to drive business growth and expansion.
  • Identify, develop and implement diversification projects in accordance with technical, regulatory and financial requirements.
