Head of Department – Facilities and Maintenance

Join Mirema School, as the Head of Department – Facilities and Maintenance. The role involves overseeing facilities and maintenance operations, ensuring safety, compliance, and high standards across the school environment. The successful candidate will manage staff, schedules, and resources while upholding the institution’s values and commitment to excellence.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Diploma/Certificate in Facilities/Maintenance/Real Estate or Property Management (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
  • Strong organizational, supervisory, and communication skills
  • Knowledge of preventive and corrective
  • maintenance practices
  • Valid Certificate of Good Conduct

 

Security Officer

  • Join Mirema School as a Security Officer – responsible for ensuring the safety of staff, learners, visitors, and property by preventing unauthorized access, theft, and break-ins while maintaining a secure and welcoming environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum three (3) years of relevant work experience as a Security Officer or equivalent role in a reputable organization
  • NYS Training
  • Certificate in First Aid (added advantage)

Laundry Attendant

Join Mirema School as a Laundry Attendant – responsible for cleaning, ironing, repairing, and maintaining school laundry (uniforms, beddings, linens, and curtains) to the highest standards of hygiene and order.

Qualifications

  • Certificate/Diploma in Housekeeping & Laundry from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a school, hospital, or hotel setting.
  • Knowledge of fabric care and laundry equipment.
  • High standards of cleanliness and organization.

Skills and Attributes

  • Collect, wash, dry, and iron uniforms, beddings, and staff coats.
  • Operate and maintain laundry machines safely and efficiently.
  • Handle detergents and cleaning agents correctly.
  • Fold, label, and store laundered items neatly.
  • Perform minor repairs (stitching, buttons).
  • Maintain cleanliness of the laundry room and monitor supplies.
  • Report damages or equipment faults promptly.

 

Head of Department – Catering

Join Mirema School as our Head of Department – Catering, where you will lead daily kitchen operations, manage staff, and ensure excellence in food quality, hygiene, and service.

Qualifications

  • Diploma/Bachelor’s in Food Production, Food & Beverage, or related field.
  • At least 3 years’ supervisory experience in catering.
  • Valid Certificate of Good Conduct and Medical Certificate.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.

Cook

Mirema School is hiring a Cook to manage daily kitchen operations, prepare nutritious meals, and ensure high standards of hygiene, quality, and efficiency for learners, staff, and school events.

Qualifications

  • Diploma/Certificate in Food Production, Catering, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years’ proven experience as a Cook in a reputable institution
  • Valid Medical Certificate Basic computer skills

  • Ability to manage time and resources efficiently Attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Team player with good communication skills
