Tutorial Fellow – Health Systems Management

Job Objective

Reporting to the Head of Department – Business and Economics

Duties and responsibilities

  • Teaching Course Units in areas allocated by the Head of Department,
  • Evaluating the outcomes of individuals learning through formal assessment,
  • Assisting in the development of learning materials and producing study manuals, preparing schemes of work and maintaining records
  • Monitoring student progress, achievement and attendance and following through, in any case, requires attention to their full logical conclusion
  • Setting, moderating, invigilating and marking of examinations and other assessments
  • Carrying out research, writing research grant proposals, and obtaining support for research funding in line with the Universitys objectives.
  • Seek and participate in consultancies.
  • Dissemination of research outputs.
  • Providing mentorship and career guidance to students and staff.
  • Carrying out administrative duties
  • Any other duties as they may be assigned from time to time by the supervisors or as captured in your detailed job description.

Qualification and experience

  • Master of Science in Health Systems Management degree or in a relevant field from a recognised/accredited University in the relevant field
  • Bachelor of Science in Health Systems Management degree or in the relevant field from a recognised/accredited University.
  • At least three years of post-qualification work experience;
  • Demonstrated potential for university teaching and research.

Tutorial Fellow – Human Resource Management

Job Objective

Reporting to the Head of Department

Duties and responsibilities

  • To teach in areas allocated by the Head of Department.
  • Designing, developing, planning and delivering a range of programmes of study, sometimes for entirely new courses at various levels.
  • Delivering high-quality lectures and practicals.
  • Reviewing course content and materials on a regular basis, updating when required.
  • Collaborating with academic colleagues on course development, curriculum changes and the development of research activities.
  • Carrying out research and writing research grant proposals.
  • Seeking and participating in consultancies.
  • Presenting research papers at national or international conferences and other similar events.

Instructional Designer

Job Objective

  • Responsible for designing, developing, and implementing engaging instructional materials and e-learning courses. This role involves working closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to create interactive and learner-centred content that aligns with educational and organizational objectives.

Duties and responsibilities

Course Design & Development

  • Develop instructional materials, including e-learning modules, training guides, and assessments.
  • Apply instructional design principles, adult learning theories, and best practices to create engaging content.
  • Ensure courses are designed to meet learning outcomes and enhance learner retention.

Content Creation & Enhancement

  • Collaborate with SMEs to transform complex content into clear, concise, and interactive learning experiences.
  • Utilize multimedia tools such as videos, animations, and simulations to improve content delivery.
  • Ensure accessibility and inclusivity in all instructional materials.

Learning Technology Integration

  • Work with Learning Management Systems (LMS) to upload, organize, and track course content.
  • Implement innovative e-learning solutions, including gamification, microlearning, and virtual reality where applicable.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to e-learning platforms.

Assessment & Evaluation

  • Design assessments and quizzes to measure learner comprehension and course effectiveness.
  • Analyze feedback and learner performance data to continuously improve instructional materials.
  • Conduct usability testing to ensure a seamless learning experience.

Collaboration & Training Support

  • Work with trainers, educators, and HR teams to develop training programs that align with organizational goals.
  • Provide training to instructors and staff on how to effectively use e-learning tools and platforms.
  • Support the development of onboarding and professional development programs.

  • Stay up to date with emerging instructional technologies and industry trends.
  • Engage in continuous self-development and upskilling in instructional design and e-learning trends.

Qualification and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education Technology, Learning & Development, or a related field (Master s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or e-learning development.
  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or Camtasia.
  • Strong understanding of instructional design models (ADDIE, Bloom s Taxonomy, etc.).
  • Proficiency in multimedia content development tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva).
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders and manage projects independently.
  • Strong analytical skills for evaluating learner performance and course effectiveness.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and compliance (e.g., WCAG, SCORM, xAPI)

 

Tutorial Fellow – Entrepreneurship

Job Objective
