Construction Manager

The Construction Manager will be responsible for delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive project plans, budgets, and schedules for all construction activities. The role involves overseeing departmental resources including people, materials, tools, and equipment to drive efficiency and maximize performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Overseeing the complete lifecycle of assigned construction projects, from strategic planning and budgeting to final handover and closeout.
  • Team Leadership: Providing strategic leadership and mentorship to the construction department, including supervisors, crews, and subcontractors.
  • Safety Management: Developing and enforcing a comprehensive safety program, ensuring a culture of safety and compliance with all regulations.
  • Quality Control: Establishing and maintaining stringent quality standards and conducting regular inspections to ensure all work meets project specifications.
  • Communication: Serving as a major point of contact for construction-related matters, communicating effectively with senior leadership, department heads, and external partners with the guidance and concurrence of the Head of Department.
  • Scheduling: Creating, monitoring, and adjusting master construction schedules to ensure all projects are completed efficiently and on time.
  • Resource Management: Strategically allocating and managing departmental resources as assigned by the Head od Department to by the to maximize efficiency and project success.
  • Problem Solving: Proactively identifying potential challenges and developing strategic solutions to mitigate risks and keep projects on track.
  • Documentation: Ensuring all project documentation, including contracts, progress reports, and financial records, is accurate, complete, and up to date.
  • Training and Mentoring: Supporting the Head of Department in developing and implementing training programs for the construction team, fostering continuous professional growth and skill development.
  • Budget Management: Working through the Head of Department, in developing, managing, and forecasting departmental budgets, ensuring all projects are completed within financial constraints.

Academic and Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is required. Advanced degree or professional certification is an advantage
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in complex industrial construction projects with in-depth understanding of advanced construction methods, materials, and safety regulations.

 

Food Innovation and Indigenous Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a roadmap of all available nutritional options for the tilapia diet based on locally available goods and waste goods.
  • Collaborate with Nutritionists and Cage Feed Trial Managers to develop a testing program to methodically test and track the performance of these novel and indigenous ingredients as a fish feed.
  • On high-potential nutritional categories which are not available in large supply locally (or at too high a cost), build a costing model to estimate the cost of producing the crop at scale; then set up pilots to test the cost of production of these ingredients.
  • Build on and develop a professional framework for Victory’s Biodiversity target – starting with trees on all operating sites. Then advance this to supply additional trees and biodiversity across our sites to drive our goals.
  • Leverage the HEAP program and other formats to create additional positive impact.
  • Review and help apply for financing opportunities (grants, soft capital) to access more
  • funding to drive all our initiatives further and faster.
  • Work on special pilot testing at 106 grounds (and train/manage 106 gardeners) to get especially deep analysis on several key learnings.
  • Identify local crops that can be produced on a large scale and become effective substitutes for bulking materials to be used in the production of fish feed.
  • Closely collaborate with the Farm Gardener to ensure that the Farm Tree Nursery is well run and stocked with relevant plants, with emphasis on indigenous species.
  • Actively participate in the values day activities by advocating and creating awareness on the benefits of tree planting and improved biodiversity.
  • Work closely with the ESG and Impact Reporting functions.
  • Establish and promote vermicomposting systems to produce high-quality worm juice and compost for use as foliar feed and soil amendment in novel crop cultivation.
  • Design and execute an irrigation plan for novel plots, incorporating crop-specific water consumption rates and establishing a tracking system to monitor and optimise usage.
  • Lead novel crop production using organic practices and regenerative agriculture systems to enhance soil health, biodiversity, and sustainability.
  • Establish organic fertiliser composting systems utilising crop and animal by-products, and ensure periodic production and application of organic fertilisers for novel crop cultivation.
  • Oversee the harvesting and post-harvest processes for novel crops, ensuring alignment with food safety regulations and best practices to maintain product quality and integrity.

Professional Experience, Educational background, and skills required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science, Aquaculture, Animal Nutrition, Agronomy, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
  • Minimum 7+ years of hands-on experience in sustainable agriculture, aquaculture nutrition, agroforestry, or biodiversity programs.
  • Experience working with indigenous plants, animal feed formulation, or agribusiness research is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of fish nutrition, feed ingredients, and feed trials.
  • Proficiency in designing and executing agricultural or aquaculture pilot projects.
  • Ability to create cost models and assess the economic viability of crop production at scale.
  • Familiarity with biodiversity frameworks and tree-planting programs.
  • Competency in data collection, analysis, and reporting for environmental and sustainability metrics.

 

Maintenance Engineer (Marine)

Key Responsibilities

Marine and Mechanical Systems Management

  • Oversee the maintenance, repair, and operational integrity of marine vessels (Speed boats, Barges, platforms) including propulsion systems, steering gear, auxiliary machinery, and deck equipment.
  • Oversee the maintenance, repair, and operational integrity of mechanical items, including but not limited to cranes, concrete mixers, rammers, compactors, dozers, TLBs, trucks, and tractors.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for all marine and mechanical assets to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Conduct regular inspections and performance assessments of marine engines, pumps, filtration systems, and other critical components.

Troubleshooting & Repair

  • Diagnose complex mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults in marine equipment, industrial machinery, and facility infrastructure.
  • Execute and supervise repair work, pump replacements, and system recalibrations, ensuring high standards of workmanship and safety.
  • Source and specify appropriate spare parts and materials, managing inventory for critical components. 

Design & Optimization:

  • Contribute to the design, modification, and improvement of mechanical systems for new and existing marine vessels and aquaculture infrastructure.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains in mechanical operations, proposing and implementing innovative solutions.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for new equipment installations or system upgrades. 

Project Management & Compliance:

  • Lead or support engineering projects related to marine infrastructure development, equipment installation, and system upgrades, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery.
  • Ensure all mechanical operations and installations comply with relevant marine safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, including maintenance records, repair logs, and design specifications.

Team Collaboration & Safety

  • Collaborate closely with operations teams, electrical engineers to resolve technical issues and coordinate maintenance activities.
  • Promote a strong safety culture within the engineering and operations teams, conducting risk assessments and ensuring adherence to all safety protocols.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior technicians and operational staff on mechanical best practices.

Academic and Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (5+ years preferred) in marine engineering or mechanical engineering roles with a marine focus.
  • Strong knowledge of marine propulsion systems, auxiliary equipment, and vessel mechanical infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with international maritime regulations, classification of society standards, and safety protocols.
  • Proficient in CAD software and engineering analysis tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work in marine environments and adapt to diverse project requirements

 

Construction Supervisor

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute construction projects from initiation to completion, ensuring scope, timeline, and budget targets are met
  • Supervise and coordinate onsite personnel, subcontractors, and technical teams to maintain momentum and discipline
  • Enforce safety policies and legal compliance, cultivating a safe and accountable working environment
  • Oversee quality control and project standards, actively reviewing work to meet client and organizational expectations
  • Liaise with project managers, clients, and contractors to support project objectives and communicate progress
  • Develop and monitor construction schedules, adjusting resources as needed to meet deadlines
  • Allocate labor, materials, and equipment efficiently, optimizing site productivity
  • Resolve emerging challenges decisively, ensuring continuity of operations
  • Maintain accurate daily logs, status updates, and reporting documents for project transparency
  • Support crew development through mentoring, coaching, and consistent communication of best practices
  • Monitor expenditure and project financials, flagging cost risks early and suggesting corrective actions

Academic and Professional Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Construction Management or a related field
  • 4-5years supervisory experience in a construction setting
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Familiarity with regulatory and safety standards relevant to the construction industry
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • Solid foundation in construction methods, materials, and sequencing

  • Skilled at diffusing tensions and resolving interpersonal or operational disputes on site
  • Ability to see the broader project landscape and anticipate long-term implications of decisions
