Finance Officer

Specific Tasks

  • Verify and ensure complete and proper documentation of project activity-related payments.
  • Initiate B2C MPESA transfers to project participants in a timely manner.
  • Track and ensure that all project participants are paid .
  • Track and ensure prompt submission of expenditure reports/surrenders by project
  • staff upon completion of an activity.
  • Verify the expenditure reports/surrenders for correctness and completeness.
  • Post approved transactions into the SUNPLUS accounting system.
  • Prepare Admin/Project reconciliations.
  • Prepare Bank/MPESA accounts reconciliations.
  • Ensure completeness of JV documentation for filing.
  • Scan journal vouchers complete with support documentation and file in sharepoint
  • Promptly file hard copy Journal vouchers into clearly labelled box files.
  • Obtain and file acknowledgement document (receipt or otherwise) for all payments.
  • Ensure assets register and inventory listing is updated and reconciled with ledger.
  • Ensure Staff personal accounts are cleared every month as per policy.
  • Prepare cash flow projections in liaison with the technical project staff.
  • Monitor project budget burn rate for optimal project performance
  • Ensure completeness of posting of transactions for up to date reporting
  • Extract monthly Financial reports from sunsystems and circulate to management
  • Prepare accurate donor reports in a timely manner

Desired Competencies and Minimum Qualifications

  • Education University degree in Accounting or Finance and/or Professional qualification in Accounting.
  • Experience At least (3) year’s experience in accounting and financial management of donor funded projects in an NGO setting.

 

Project Finance Assistant

Specific Tasks

  • Track and ensure that all project participants to whom payment is due are paid.
  • Track and ensure prompt submission of expenditure reports/surrenders by field staff upon completion of an activity.

Research Project Coordinator

Project Implementation

  • Plan, coordinate, and ensure the timely implementation of project activities in line with the proposal.
  • Develop operating procedures, guidelines, and work plans to achieve project objectives
  • Team Leadership and Training
  • Supervise and support Research Assistants to ensure adherence to protocols and quality standards.
  • Plan and deliver research team training in collaboration with Burman University.
  • Data Collection and Analysis
  • Oversee the implementation of youth and community-led data collection using ICT tools like ODK.
  • Coordinate data analysis workshops with the Community Advisory Board to ensure
  • insights are contextualized, prioritized, and actionable.
  • Ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of data collection activities and maintain accurate records
  • Community Engagement
  • Facilitate the establishment and functioning of a Multi-Stakeholder Community Advisory Board.
  • Lead participatory research training sessions for youth leaders, community members, and stakeholders.
  • Plan and coordinate advisory board and steering committee meetings
  • Advocacy and Knowledge Translation
  • Represent the consortium in county, national, and international forums.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Oversee the operationalization of Knowledge Translation Hubs to enhance digital literacy and advocacy skills.
  • Organize community feedback sessions where youth share findings with the broader community using ICT-based approaches
  • Sustainability and Scale-Up
  • Participate in the development of concept notes and proposals for new funding opportunities based on lessons learned and identified gaps.
  • Identify and develop new research-based partnerships to expand or scale up project interventions.
  • Others
  • Perform any other tasks appropriate to the post and as assigned by the Project PI or their designee.

Desired Competencies and Minimum Qualifications

  • Education Master’s degree in public health or related field
  • Experience Minimum of 3 years of experience in public health research coordination or project management.
  • Demonstrated experience in gender-transformative programming related to SRHR and CEFM

 

Research Project Assistant

Data Collection and Management

  • Participate in participant recruitment and administer questionnaires, focus group discussions, and key informant interviews.
  • Ensure safe and accurate storage and handover of collected data.

  • Participate in the organization and conduct of training sessions to equip youth leaderswith ICT skills for advocacy, social media engagement, and knowledge-sharing

  • Facilitate community feedback sessions to validate research findings.
  • Collaborate with the Community Advisory Board to ensure local voices shape project outcomes
  • Advocacy and Knowledge Translation
  • Support the operationalization of Knowledge Translation Hubs to promote digital literacy and evidence-based advocacy.
  • Assist in preparing presentations and materials for stakeholder meetings

Desired Competencies and Minimum Qualifications

  • Education Bachelor’s degree in Health or Social Sciences
  • Experience Experience conducting interviews and community-based research.
