Director Marketing

Job Purpose:
Responsible for the strategic planning and proving expert advice and direction in the communication and marketing activities of the University as a member of the senior management team., working collaboratively across the University in the delivery of the institutional strategy.
Develop and manage the corporate brand of the University, collaborating closely with the academic community, and with a detailed knowledge of the University’s major stakeholders to ensure that the brand, style, tone and quality of our internal and external presence is consistent and contributes to the University’s strategic aims.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and monitor integrated marketing strategy, program, policy, procedures, plan and guidelines
  • Spearhead the strategic and tactical execution of marketing campaigns, including design of test/control segmentation, results reporting, analysis, and recommendations
  • Establish the University’s brand book and manage the alignment of all elements of the brand strategy with marketing goals.
  • Lead the development of the university brand strategy and articulate the desired brand positioning
  • Define the measures used to determine brand effectiveness and use results to inform future activities
  • University brand custodian – distils the essence of the ANU brand and/or maintains a portfolio of ANU brands
  • Direct market research to identify customer needs, target groups and demographic segments.

  • Lead the development of customer expectation standards and collection tools for the University.

Manager, Facilities and Security Services

Job Purpose:

Responsible for the operational management and administrative direction of the facilities and infrastructure unit, transport services and Campus physical security services, by ensuring that the University’s buildings, grounds and utilities are properly maintained and always kept aligned to our strategic ambition; that there is efficient transport services and adequate and effective Campus security services, and community liaison.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop infrastructure maintenance and enhancement plan, Campus security management strategy and plan., program, policy, procedures, plan and guidelines
  • Develop and monitor the department annual work plan and budget in liaison with the section supervisors
  • Oversee the inspection, general upkeep and maintenance/ refurbishments/ renovations/ addition of buildings and related services (electrical installations, plumbing, masonry, carpentry, custodial, grounds) to ensure that they meet building codes standards, health and safety standards, and CUE physical infrastructure standards and requirements
  • Oversee the planning, coordination, and facilitation of the movement of students, staff or goods from one place to another, office allocation and intra office moves.
  • Oversee the security function at the University to ensure safety of the premises, staff, students, and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee the transport operations for the University, ensuring that the environment is safe for students, staff, and visitors and that all logistical needs are adequately met.
  • Ensure alignment of procurement activities within the department comply with the ANU Supply Chain Policy and procedures.
  • Coordinate and monitor activities of service providers/ vendors/ suppliers ensuring delivery schedules, quantity and quality criteria are met
  • Ensure proper storage and maintenance of equipment, machinery and vehicles in liaison with the section supervisors
  • Ensure government statutory requirements and regulations are met with regards to buildings, permits, licenses, inspections, insurance, audit, environmental waste management, transport and security.
  • Oversee the record keeping process of the department and generate informative monthly reports in liaison with the section supervisors.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans and define project scope, objectives and requirements in liaison with respective departments’/project owners.
  • Sign off any and all scope changes for all projects following all due process; always ensuring that all our initiatives are value for money.
  • Design risk mitigation plan in liaison with the internal audit and risk management function.
  • Implement best practice processes to increase efficiency and cost savings

Head Systems and Database

Job Purpose:
Responsible for designing, developing, implementing and maintaining software solutions, databases and related services to support the University’s operations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop enterprise applications strategy, program, policy, procedures, plan, standards and guidelines.
  • Design, develop, test and implement software applications and database systems.
  • Coordinate the end-to-end development of enterprise applications including analysis of requirements, evaluation of existing systems, identification, coding/ programming, testing, integrating, interfacing, deploying, customizing, documentation and version control.
  • Write clean, efficient and well documented code.
  • Coordinate the maintenance and upgrade of existing enterprise applications, including addition of modules and development of integrations between existing systems
  • Troubleshoot and provide technical support to users on enterprise applications to resolve software and database system issues as well as optimizing data base performance.
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Work with user support to ensure resolution of 2nd level and 3rd level enterprise applications related tickets within the stipulated Service Level Agreements. Monitor and optimize enterprise applications to ensure they are running efficiently
  • Work with third party providers to ensure timely implementation and restoration of enterprise applications related services.
  • Train staff on the usage of enterprise applications.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth integration of software components.
  • Setup and test enterprise applications backup and restore systems
  • Design and allocate appropriate user roles to ensure enterprise applications security.

University Chaplain

Job Purpose:
Responsible for building spirituality of staff and university students by organizing and leading chapel service, spiritual groups and discipleship programs.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning, coordination and execution of Chapel programs and services through all program modes including the acquisition of instrument and equipment’s for the chapel; Developing chapel program content and agenda; Overseeing Chapel announcements; and communication with Preachers and other servants for every day chapel service.
  • Oversee the activities of religious clubs and bible study groups including planned event by the Christian Unions, external relations of the Christian Union and governing bodies by aligning activities to Wesleyan Arminian Holiness perspective
  • Oversee the selection and identification of work study students and the sign off of monthly work study activity and performance
  • Oversee the provision of Pastoral care services to university community including pastoral counselling, guidance, prayers, encouragements, impact discipleship and mentoring; Offer Prayer support to those in crisis and needing the support; execute on demand counselling to students, faculty, and staff
  • Liaise with other Nazarene religious liaisons and other universities in Kenya to promote spiritual unity through the promotion of consistent ministry outreach to local communities; Involved in community planned mission and events outside the Campus
  • Lead the development and training of leaders on Spiritual life and discipleship; provide support and advice on overall campus ethos and coordinate activities for spiritual formation and development of students, staff, and faculty
  • Coordinate the preparation of departmental budget by deciding on the allocation of physical and financial resources; monitor its effective implementation.
  • Develop the department annual plan and tactical strategies to support the achievement of the overall University plan; Monitor the plan on a scheduled basis

Communications Officer

Job Purpose:
Responsible for creating communication materials for dissemination in different internal and external target audiences, including the social media platforms.
Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop a communication policy and guidelines for implementation at the University.
  • Maintain a register of target internal and external audiences.
  • Develop engaging, creative, innovative content messages for regularly scheduled posts.
  • Collect enquiries, and record for follow up. Ensure all enquiries are responded to within the hour.
  • Research and analyze on public opinion, image, social media trends and perception of the University.
  • Collect corporate stories from staff, faculty, students’ alumni and other partners of the University. Review, edit and proofread the stories for posting on webpages and social media channels and on all University platforms
  • Create a content guide, storyboard, theme and identify contributing writers for the University’s annual magazine.
  • Manage all social media accounts and any outsourced copywriter and content creators.
  • Liaise with the graphic designer and audiovisual technician/photographer for publishing of different communications. Distribute media releases to print, radio and television agencies as and when necessary
  • Plan for, and handle the logistics of conferences, corporate visits, seminars, workshops, exhibitions and other university events. Staff, faculty and Students to be informed of all campus activities.
  • Design for implementation various CSR activities and programs on behalf of the University.
  • Ensure a consistent brand message across all the communication channels.

Academic and Professional Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communication or a related field
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience

Dean, School of Science and Technology

The Position
The Dean who will serve as the chief academic officer and chief administrator of the School, will report to the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic Affairs. The Dean will ensure the school’s commitment to providing a high-quality education that prepares students for being effective, ethical, and competent legal practitioners. The Dean will be responsible for overseeing the academic programs of the school to assure the programs meet regulatory requirements and is fully aligned to the University’s purpose and strategic vision.
The Dean will oversee program review and ongoing assessment of all academic and support programs in the
School; will be responsible for ensuring that the School is efficiently administering its academic and administrative programs and committees; and will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with important stakeholders. The Dean will be someone who is going to maintain a presence in local, state, national and international scholarly communities in the respective fields. The Dean will represent the School and the University in public speaking opportunities to further enhance the reputation of the University and the
School.
