Operator in Responsible Charge (ORC)(Water)

About the job

  • This is a pre-award opportunity located on Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean.
  • The ORC must possess the necessary education, experience, training, continuing education and other qualification requirements for certification as a NOCA Class 3 Treatment and Class 3 Distribution operator. In addition, the operator in responsible charge must demonstrate a proficiency in basic verbal and written English language skills.
  • The ORC must possess a current/valid operator’s certificate per the requirements specified in CNICINST 5090.2, reference (b) “Operator in Responsible Charge and Assistant Operator in Responsible Charge Training and Certification Program” which includes US and Host Nation (HN) reciprocity.

Meteorology and Oceanography (METOC) Observers

  • This is a pre-award opportunity located on Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean.
  • Demonstrate proficiencies in operating weather equipment and administering various observation programs (synoptic, and special).
  • Visual acuity corrected to 20/20.
  • English proficiency in both written and oral communication.
  • Minimum of a high school degree or equivalent, with the ability to use a computer and understanding of non-technical computer functions and commands.

 

Transient Line Technicians

  • Provide transient line technicians to assist the T-Line Production Superintendent with ground handling and servicing of arriving and departing aircraft in accordance with applicable technical references.

Key role and responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Provide transient line technicians to assist the T-Line Production Superintendent with ground handling and servicing of arriving and departing aircraft in accordance with applicable technical references.
  • Understand and be able to perform FAA standard marshalling commands
  • Minimum 2 years general aircraft maintenance experience. Large body aircraft preferredCurrent/valid driver’s license, US or International
  • Fluent in English (verbal communication and written word)

 

Site Safety and Health Officer

  • The Contractor shall provide a SSHO whose primary duty and responsibility is to prepare and enforce the Contractor’s safety program on this contract. The SSHO shall meet the requirements of EM 385-1-1 Section 1 and ensure that the requirements of 29 CFR 1926.16 are met for Contract requirements.
  • The SSHO or an equally-qualified Designated Representative/alternate shall be on-site at all times when work is being performed to implement and administer the Contractor’s safety program and government-accepted Accident Prevention Plan.
  • Specifically, the SSHO shall have completed five years of satisfactory experience in preparing and enforcing safety programs on contracts of similar size and complexity in the past, and have completed the OSHA 30-hour construction safety class or equivalent within the last five years and an average of at least 24 hours of safety training per year for the past five years.
  • The SSHO’s training, experience, and qualifications shall be as required by EM 385-1-1 paragraph 01.A.17, entitled SITE SAFETY AND HEALTH OFFICER (SSHO), and all associated sub-paragraphs. The SSHO shall be a Certified Safety Professional (CSP). The SSHO shall be certified for lead abatement, asbestos abatement, confined space entry and respiratory protection. The SSHO shall be trained and qualified to conduct Mishap Investigations per OPNAV 5100.23 series. The SSHO shall maintain competency IAW EM385-1-1 requirements.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Engineering (any field), Industrial Hygiene, Health Physics, Fire Prevention or other related scientific fields, based on a four year course of study from a U.S. or U.K. accredited college or university or equivalent institution.

 

Port Control Tower Watch

  • Perform the services and conduct all operations with applicable practices and referenced publications incorporated herein.
  • The Port Control Tower is one of the primary locations for liaison between in port ships and island commands, as well as for the coordination of emergency response.
  • This position demands a high degree of responsibility.  Personnel must be fluent in English, including verbal and written communications.
  • Must have working knowledge of Navigational Skills such as Chart Reading, Plotting, Figuring Time and Distance and familiarization with Navigational Tools.
  • Must have knowledge of Port Control Schedules.

 

Planners and Estimators (P&E) and Construction/ Building Inspectors

  • P&Es and Construction/Building Inspectors with minimum of five years experience in evaluating electrical, mechanical and structural projects and installations shall be on the Contractor’s staff. P&Es and Construction/Building Inspectors shall have current safety qualifications for climbing in confined spaces, working in heights, and inspecting gas and high voltage lines.
