Maintenance Technician

Job Purpose Statement:

Carry out and certify all servicing, repair, replacement tasks on aircraft & aircraft systems in accordance with KCAA and Jambojet regulations at an optimized cost for the business whilst upholding high safety standards to maintain schedule integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out assigned maintenance tasks for safe and timely release of aircraft within planned downtime for continuedairworthiness.
  • Carry out routine maintenance tasks, removal and installation of power plant and aircraft systems components
  • Carry out assigned maintenance on cabin utilities for utmost customer satisfaction and comfort
  • Identify and requisition of the required parts, tooling and supplies for the maintenance operation under theengineer’ssupervision
  • Report incidents / accident occurrences as per company procedures
  • Ensure that maintenance tasks, defects and component changes are recorded accurately on both paper and ITsystems & signed for in order to maintain correct & up to date aircraft history /data
  • Adhere to the company SHE policy, MPM, TPM, MCM AMM and all relevant manuals
  • Carry out security checks as per engineering security document procedure.
  • Care and safekeeping company tools and maintenance equipment and observes housekeeping Rules
  • Clean and service engines and aircraft structures and systems as assigned by engineer in charge

Minimum Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in the relevant engineering discipline
  • KCSE with a Minimum grade of C with at least 3 years aircraft maintenance experience
  • Experience on Dash 8 would be an added advantage

Materials Coordinator – Technical Stores

Role Purpose:

Under the general direction and guidance of the Manager Materials and Logistics, the Materials Coordinator in Technical Stores is responsible for organizing and controlling aircraft spares and tools stockrooms. This role ensures spares are securely warehoused, handled, and issued to aircraft maintenance work-stations, complying with KCAA requirements, Civil Aviation Regulations, the Laws of Kenya, and company policies. The role facilitates aircraft spares quality assurance and on-time release of aircraft to service while upholding the highest safety standards.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

  • Ensure aircraft spares requested by maintenance stations are promptly issued to assist in the on-time release of aircraft during maintenance.
  • Ensure aircraft spares correctly relate to authenticated attached documents, perform quality control checks, and record data accurately in the database to ensure conformity to quality standards and inventory visibility.
  • Control and monitor the movement of spares, tools, and equipment, with special attention to life-limited parts, to ensure traceability and accountability.
  • Monitor spares in the stores to maintain appropriate storage conditions, segregation, and control of life-limited parts for effective inventory management.
  • Ensure correct packaging, storage, and handling of spares as per manufacturers’ specifications, company policies, and regulatory procedures.
  • Drive/operate motorized equipment for safe and timely delivery of parts and materials to maintenance areas to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Handle direct purchasing of spares as part of Aircraft on Ground (AOG) recovery efforts.
  • Adhere to stores ethics to uphold safety, company values, and principles of ethical Supply Management.
  • Participate in stores policy formulation and process improvement to enhance productivity.
  • Manage the Aircraft Operator Certificate (AOC) Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) systems.

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in airline stores operations.
  • Certification: Relevant industry certifications. Membership to professional bodies is an added advantage. Motor Vehicle Driving License preferred.

 

Shift Leader

Role Purpose:

  • Under the general direction and guidance of the Manager Line Maintenance, the Shift Leader leads and certifies all aircraft and engine maintenance and repair work within his shift and scope of approval in accordance with KCAA and company regulations at optimized costs while maintaining the highest safety standards to uphold schedule integrity.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

  • Ensure availability of aircraft, equipment, spares, and manpower for all scheduled maintenance requirements and effectively return AOG aircraft to service considering airworthiness requirements.
  • Manage both scheduled and unscheduled line maintenance for Jambojet and customer fleet, including coordination and planning within the shift.
  • Guide and train team members on proper maintenance practices and certify duplicate inspections on safety-critical systems to ensure integrity.
  • Liaise with Technical Services and communicate technical issues, ensuring all relevant parties are aware of the aircraft’s serviceability status.
  • Review line check procedures and processes for optimal control and efficiency of line maintenance operations.
  • Monitor the use and maintenance of aircraft support equipment and components.
  • Ensure accurate and complete shift handover documentation.
  • Report incidents/accidents as per company procedures and supervise shift engineers and technicians, fostering competency and efficiency.
  • Carry out Quality Receiving Inspection of aircraft Parts/Components and adhere to company safety, health, environmental policies, and engineering security document procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Diploma/Degree in relevant engineering discipline or completion of a 3-year Apprenticeship program within an approved MRO.
  • Experience: At least 7 years in aircraft maintenance, with a minimum of 3 years as a certifying line maintenance engineer.
  • Certifications: Full LWTR A&P or Avionics or B1 & B2 with a KCAA endorsement, type rating on Jambojet fleet, type C rating is an added advantage.
