Member Water Tribunal (Civil Engineer)

Job Description

Under Section II9 (2)(b) of the Water (Amendment) Act 2024, applicants for the position of Member Water Tribunal (Civil Engineer) must have the following minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field from a recognized university;
  • Registration with the Engineers Board of Kenya or any other recognized professional body and in good standing.
  • Have at least ten (10) years of relevant experience
  • Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution on leadership and integrity.

Member Water Tribunal (Water Engineer)

Job Description

Under Section II9 (2)(b) of the Water (Amendment) Act 2024, applicants for the position of Member Water Tribunal (Water Engineer) must have the following minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in water engineering or Bio-systems and Agricultural engineering (majoring in water resources and supplies) or related field from a recognized university
  • Registration with Engineers Board of Kenya or any other recognized professional body and in good standing;
  • Have at least ten (10) years of relevant experience
  • Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution on leadership and integrity.

 

Member Water Tribunal (General)

Job Description

Under Section II9 (2)(c) of the Water (Amendment) Act 2024, applicants for the position of Member, of the Water Tribunal in the general category must have the following minimum requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree from a university recognized in Kenya
  • Have at least five (5) years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution on leadership and integrity.

 

Chairperson, Tax Appeals Tribunal

Job Description

Under Section 4A (a) of the Tax Appeals Tribunal (Amendment) Act of 2022, the applicant must have the following minimum requirements.

  • Hold a law degree from a recognized university;
  • Be an advocate of the High Court of Kenya, or possess an equivalent qualification in a Common-law jurisdiction;
  • Have at least ten (10) years of experience as a superior court judge or a professionally qualified magistrate; or
  • Have at least ten (10) years’ experience as a distinguished academic, or legal practitioner or such experience in other relevant legal field;
  • Have held the qualifications specified in paragraphs (iii) and (iv) above for a period amounting, in the aggregate, to ten (10) years;
  • Possess the experience required under paragraph (iii),(iv) and (v) above as applicable, irrespective of whether that experience was gained in Kenya or in another Commonwealth Common-Law jurisdiction;
  • Have a high moral character, integrity and impartiality (meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution on Leadership and Integrity).
  • In addition, the applicants should demonstrate a high degree of professional competence, communication skills, fairness, good temperament, good judgment, wide breath of both legal and life experience and demonstrable commitment to public and community service.

 

Chairperson, Sports Disputes Tribunal (Re-advertised)

Job Description

For appointment to the position of Chairperson Sports Disputes Tribunal, an applicant must be in possession of qualifications as provided under Section 55 (2) (a) of the Sports Act.

A Chairperson shall be a person who is qualified to be appointed as a judge of the High Court;

  • Hold a law degree from a recognized university or be an advocate of the High Court of Kenya or possess an equivalent qualification in a common-law jurisdiction.
  •  Have at least ten (10) years experience as a;
    • superior court judge or a professionally qualified magistrate; or
    • distinguished academic, or legal practitioner or such experience in other relevant legal field;
    • Have held the qualifications specified in paragraphs ii (a) and (b) above for a period amounting, in the aggregate to ten (10) years; and
    • Possess the experience required under paragraph ii (a), (b) and (c) above as applicable, irrespective of whether that experience was gained in Kenya or another Commonwealth Common-Law jurisdiction; and
  • Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution on leadership and integrity.
  • In addition, the applicants must demonstrate a high degree of professional competence, communication skills, fairness, good temperament, good judgment in both legal and life experiences and commitment to public and community service.

 

Chairperson, Water Tribunal

Job Description
