Lecturer in Education Curriculum(LEC)

Key Responsibilities

  • Teaching and research in Education Curriculum, Curriculum Studies and related areas (four courses per semester)
  • Providing results of assignments, tests and examinations for recording
  • Supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate research projects in Curriculum Studies and related areas
  • Setting and marking assignments, tests and examinations
  • Developing and reviewing curriculum materials, course outlines and teaching resources
  • Performing any other duties that may be assigned by the University Management

Qualifications and skills

  • An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in Education, Curriculum Studies or a relevant field from an accredited and recognized University
  • Ability to use modern teaching methods and E-Learning tools
  • At least three (3) years teaching experience at University level or experience in research or industry
  • Registered with the relevant professional body, where applicable
  • A minimum of twenty-four (24) publication points, of which at least sixteen (16) should be from refereed journal papers
  • Excellent presentation, teaching and learning support skills

 

Lecturer in Education Psychology(LEP)

Key Responsibilities

  • Teaching and research in Educational Psychology and related areas (four courses per semester
  • Supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate research projects in Educational Psychology and related disciplines

Qualifications and skills

  • An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in Educational Psychology, Psychology, Education or a relevant field from an accredited and recognized University

Lecturer Counseling Psychology(LCP)

  • Conducting research in English Language, Linguistics, Literature and related areas.

Qualifications and skills

  • An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in Counselling Psychology, Psychology, Guidance and Counselling or a relevant field from an accredited and recognized University

  • An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in English, Linguistics, Literature or a relevant field from an accredited and recognized University
  • Excellent laboratory, presentation, teaching and learning support skills

Lecturer in Animal Science

  • An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in Animal Science, Animal Production, Livestock Production or a relevant field from an accredited and recognized University
  • Excellent practical, fieldwork, presentation, teaching and learning support skills
  • At least three (3) years teaching experience at University level or experience in research or industry
  • Registered with the relevant professional body, where applicabl
  • A minimum of twenty-four (24) publication points, of which at least sixteen (16) should be from refereed journal papers

Senior Library Assistant(SLA)

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain archives and records management services within the Library and University
  • Identify, collect, preserve and archive historical information, photographs, videos and other institutional records
  • Conduct records surveys and appraisal exercises to support effective records management and retention
  • Acquire and prepare archival materials for conversion into appropriate formats, including digitization and restoratio
  • Process, preserve and upload local digital content such as past examination papers, conference proceedings, theses, dissertations and research articles.
  • Provide access to non-current information and archival resources to library users, participate in night and Saturday shifts, and perform any other duties assigned by the University Librarian

Qualifications and skills

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Library Studies, Library and Information Science or a related field from a recognized institution
  • Must be computer literate and proficient in the use of library management systems and digital information resources
  • At least three (3) years of relevant working experience in a large or academic library
  • Membership with the Kenya Library Association (KLA) or any other relevant professional body
  • Knowledge of digitization, digital archiving and management of electronic records.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of archives, records appraisal, preservation and retention procedures

 

Senior Archives Assistant(SAA)

Key Responsibilities

  • Incharge of Archives and Records Management Services
  • Archive historical information, photograghs, video and other graphic materials
  • Acquiring,processing and preparing materials for digitization
  • Processing Kabarak University past examination papers
  • Serve library Clients with non-current information
  • Shelving books
  • Work on issue desk during Night and Saturday Shifts

Qualifications and skills

  • Bsc in Information Science
  • Diploma in Archives and Records Management
  • Must be computer literate and proficient in the use of library management systems and digital information resources
  • Three (3) years experience in library services
  • Membership with the Association of Records Managers and Archivists (ARMA) Kenya or any other relevant professional body

Library Assistant(LA) – 2 Posts

Key Responsibilities
