Medical Officer
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities will entail:

Nursing Officer
Duties and Responsibilities
This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer.

Duties and Responsibilities
An officer at this level will work under supervision of a senior pharmacist.

- Preparing and dispensing medicines according to Good Dispensing Practices and counseling patients on use of medicines;
- Making extemporaneous preparations; participating in ward rounds; identifying medicinal gaps and challenges; maintaining a daily activity log book for recording all activities undertaken;
- Recommending over the Counter (OTC) medicines to patients/clients with simple medical conditions and making necessary referrals; and

Pharmaceutical Technologist III
Duties and Responsibilities
- An officer at this level will be responsible for dispensing drugs/medicines to patients under supervision of a senior officer.
Specific duties and responsibilities include:-
- Receiving, interpreting, and processing prescriptions in pharmacy unit, prepacking , repacking and writing instructions on labels;
- Counseling patients on usage of drugs in pharmacy unit;
- Maintaining drug register/books; and
- Stock taking of drugs and medical devices on monthly basis.
Requirements of appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-
- Diploma in either pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Technology or equivalent qualification approved by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board from a recognized institution.
- Certificate of Enrollment as a Pharmaceutical Technologist awarded by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB); and

Medical Laboratory Officer
Duties and Responsibilities
- Attend the full survey training to understand the purpose and intent of the survey, as well as the plan for implementation
- Verifying collected samples from household as well as check preanalytical sample integrity/quality
- Sample processing into Dried Blood Spots (DBS) and plasma aliquoting to vials, triple packaging and shipment to Central testing Laboratory according to the KENPHIA II Laboratory Standard Operations Procedures (SOPs)
- Testing survey respondent samples flagged for HIV DNA PCR (EID) using GeneXpert and returning results for linkage to prevention, care and treatment as per KENPHIA II Linkage to Care (LTC) SOPs
- CD4 testing using PIMA CD4 Machine at the Satellite laboratory as described in KENPHIA II Protocol and applicable Laboratory SOPs
- Provide technical support to field medical laboratory technologists for challenges on barcodes, phlebotomy good practices, necessary documentation, packaging and transportation to ensure specimen integrity at the satellite laboratory
- Perform Quality Assurance measures in line with KENPHIA II SOP provision through the following activities:
- Kit Lot verification to establish fitness for purpose and testing
- Testing of Quality Control Samples/QC Materials (both Negative and Positive controls)
- Perform daily instrument maintenance to ensure equipment functionality and result accuracy
- Monitor daily environmental controls necessary for testing and storage of reagents including sample storage in fridges and freezers
- Provide on job trainings for new staff who have been brought in to support testing at Satellite level based KENPHIA II training SOPs
- HIV and Syphilis Quality Assurance re-testing
Requirements for Appointment
- Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science or Higher Diploma in Medical Virology from a recognized institution
- Must be registered with the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technologist and Technician Board (KMLTTB) and have a valid Practicing License and experience attachment in an ISO 15189 Accredited Laboratory
- Knowledge working with a laboratory information system (LIS) is critical for this assignment
- Knowledge and experience of Quality Management System essentials is critical in this assignment
- Proficiency in use of Point of Care (POC) systems is an advantage
- Good communication skills and fluency in spoken and written English, Kiswahili and relevant local languages as per the location of fieldwork

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement community health policies, strategies, and programs in line with national and county health priorities.
- Conduct community health needs assessments and participate in planning and implementation of health interventions.
- Coordinate, supervise, and mentor Community Health Volunteers (CHVs) and community health committees.
- Promote health education and behavioral change communication at the community level.
- Conduct household visits, community dialogue, and action days on key health issues.
- Collect, compile, and analyze community health data and prepare periodic reports.
- Identify and refer clients in need of curative, preventive, and rehabilitative services to appropriate facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct oral health education and awareness campaigns in communities, schools, and health facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Providing Physiotherapy services to inpatients and outpatients at an outpatient unit/ward/health institution; assessing patient needs including rehabilitation;

- Screening, assessing and providing therapeutic exercises, Manual therapy, electrotherapy and hydrotherapy as per the patients/clients formulated treatment plan;

Motician
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receive, identify, and record bodies brought into the mortuary.
- Preserve bodies through embalming, refrigeration, or other approved methods.
- Prepare bodies for postmortem examination or burial, including washing, dressing, and restoration.
- Assist pathologists during postmortem examinations.
- Maintain proper mortuary records, including admission, release, and disposal of bodies.
- Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and orderliness of the mortuary and its equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities
- This will be the entry and training grade for the Radiographers cadre. An officer at this level will work under the supervision and guidance of an experienced officer.
- Duties and responsibilities will include: providing radiographic services to patients; processing, verifying and maintaining information relating to patients; and ordering and maintaining records of radiographic and photographic supplies.
Requirements for Appointment
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C (plain) with grade C (plain) in English/Kiswahili, Biology/Biological Sciences or Physics/Physical Sciences and C- in Mathematics.
