Enterprise Officer

MTTI/HR/12/2024: 

Job Purpose:

To support the development, management, and growth of enterprise activities within the institution, ensuring sustainability, profitability, and alignment with strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development

  • Identify, evaluate, and recommend opportunities for new business ventures.
  • Support in market research and feasibility studies to develop enterprise initiatives.
  • Develop business plans, strategies, and proposals for enterprise projects.

Enterprise Management

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of assigned enterprise activities to ensure efficiency and profitability.
  • Monitor budgets, revenue, and expenses to ensure financial sustainability.
  • Develop and implement systems for tracking performance, including KPIs.

Marketing and Promotion

  • Assist in developing marketing strategies to promote enterprise products and services.
  • Ensure effective branding and communication of enterprise initiatives to target audiences.

Compliance and Reporting

  • Ensure enterprise activities comply with legal, regulatory, and organizational policies.
  • Prepare timely reports on enterprise performance, challenges, and opportunities.

Capacity Building

  • Support staff and teams in building skills and competencies related to enterprise management.
  • Provide technical assistance in developing innovative solutions to improve enterprise efficiency.

Requirements for Appointment

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Entrepreneurship, or a related field.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in enterprise development, business management, or a similar role.
  • Certificate in computer applications
  • Valid certificate of good conduct

 

Security Officers

 MTTI/HR/12/2024: SECURITY OFFICER

Reports To: Chief Principal

Job Purpose:

  • The person in this position is responsible for overall dispensation and supervision of security within the institution, to reduce security risks, respond to incidents and limit exposure to liabilities when conducting day to day operations at the institute.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of departmental budget;
  • Taking charge of the welfare of the department staff;
  • Preparing and implementing work plans, schedules and duty roster;
  • Formulation of security regulations and guidelines for the institute;
  • Directing visitors to various destinations in the institute;
  • Protecting the institute’s property including buildings, stores, motor vehicles and Equipment;
  • Inspecting and maintaining records for incoming and outgoing vehicles and visitors And compiling and submitting security reports on daily basis;
  • Patrolling and/ or guarding of access points;
  • Prevention of unauthorized persons and vehicles from entering premises and/ or Protected areas;
  • Controlling and reporting of intruders into restricted areas and prevention and Detection of crime;
  • Compiling and submitting security report on daily and monthly basis and Recommending appropriate action;
  • Recording security related events in the occurrence book;
  • Keeping custody of lost and found property;
  • Conducting induction for new security staff;
  • Conducting drills;
  • Ensuring that action is taken on physical deficiencies and lapses in the institute; and Liaising with the county administration and police department on security matters Within the institute and its environs;
  • Supervising and conducting performance appraisals for departmental staff

Requirements for Appointment

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology, Security Management or a related Course from a recognized institution;
  • Work experience in the disciplined forces and with a clean record.
  • Compliant with Chapter 6 of the Kenyan Constitution 2010.
  • Proficiency in Computer applications
  • Be physically and mentally fit;
  • Be a team player with good interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Have demonstrated professional competence in security work as reflected in
  • Performance and results.
  • Valid certificate of good conduct

 

Journalism Studio Technician

MTTI/BOG/12/2024: Journalism Studio Technician

Key Responsibilities:

Studio Management and Technical Support

  • Oversee and maintain the journalism studio’s equipment and inventory.
  • Provide technical support during practical sessions, ensuring that all equipment is functioning optimally.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that may arise during practical exams or classes.

Practical Training Support

  • Assist trainers during practical sessions, helping to ensure smooth and efficient delivery of hands-on lessons.
  • Conduct and supervise practical exercises for students, ensuring they gain the necessary skills for their industrial attachment.
  • Ensure that all practical sessions are in line with the department’s standards for quality and effectiveness.

Relieving Trainers

  • Take charge of specific aspects of the practical curriculum, ensuring a balanced workload across the team.
  • Step in as a secondary trainer when required, offering trainee additional mentorship and guidance.

Inventory and Equipment Management

  • Maintain accurate records of studio equipment and inventory, ensuring everything is in place and ready for use.
  • Coordinate the purchase, repair, or replacement of equipment as needed.

Student Skill Development

  • Ensure that trainees acquire the skills required to excel during their industrial attachments.
  • Foster a hands-on, interactive learning environment that equips students with practical, industry-relevant expertise.

Requirements for Appointment

  • Minimum Qualification – Diploma in Mass Communication or any other equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Certificate in computer applications
  • Valid certificate of good conduct

 

Assistant Supply Chain Management II

MTTI/HR/12: ASSISTANT SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT II

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities will entail: receiving, storing, shelving, labelling and issuing of stores under supervision; reconciling and maintenance of stock records; posting and updating of issued stores to the automated ledger; identifying idle stores and equipment cleaning and ensuring neatness of the stores and any other assigned lawful duty.

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

  • Served satisfactorily in the position of Supply Chain Management Assistant III,or its equivalent for a minimum of three (3) years;
  • Diploma in Procurement and Supply Chain Management/Stores Management from a recognized institution;
  • Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution; and
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Valid certificate of good conduct
  • Must be an active member of KISM
