Microcredit Assistant

Duties and responsibilities

  • Assisting in identifying and forming of micro finance groups and training;
  • Participating in training of groups;
  • Making group visits;
  • Carrying business assessment for loan applications;
  • Appraising loan applications in strict conformity with the micro finance policy;
  • Tracking loans and making follow-ups on defaulted loans;
  • Ensuring reconciliation of group accounts are done regularly;
  • Mobilizing resources for expansion and growth of micro finance program;
  • Ensuring proper business assessment is done for all loan applications;
  • Writing monthly micro credit reports for the groups;
  • Ensuring micro credit loan applications are properly and accurately appraised;

Micro Credit Officer

To manage and oversee the micro-credit lending process, including loan origination, assessment, disbursement, and recovery. The Micro Credit Officer will also develop strategies for growing the SACCO’s micro-lending portfolio while maintaining quality and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal risk management standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and assess potential micro-credit clients (individuals, groups, SMEs, chamas, etc.) by conducting detailed business intelligence, financial analysis, and site visits.
  • Guide and support members in preparing loan applications, ensuring they meet SACCO’s credit criteria.
  • Review loan applications, creditworthiness, and risk profiles, ensuring compliance with SACCO policies and SASRA regulations.
  • Conduct credit analysis, including assessing financial statements, business plans, and other relevant documentation.
  • Oversee the approval and disbursement of approved loans, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Regularly monitor disbursed loans to ensure that repayments are being made according to the terms of the loan agreement.
  • Conduct periodic site visits to monitor the use of loans and ensure they are being utilized as per the agreed terms.
  • Proactively manage loan recovery processes by engaging with clients who fall behind on payments and developing personalized repayment solutions.
  • Work closely with the legal department to initiate recovery actions where necessary, including initiating loan defaults and legal recovery processes.
  • Monitor the loan portfolio to minimize non-performing loans (NPLs) and improve the PAR
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with micro-loan clients to foster loyalty and reduce defaults.
  • Offer financial guidance, training, and support to loan recipients to ensure they effectively use the funds and repay loans on time.
  • Conduct regular follow-up meetings with clients to assess progress, address challenges, and provide advisory services.
  • Develop strategies to expand the SACCO’s micro-lending portfolio, particularly targeting high-growth sectors such as agriculture, retail, women-led businesses, and youth enterprises.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to grow the member base, including participating in financial literacy and member education campaigns.
  • Work with the marketing team to promote micro-credit products to potential clients.
  • Ensure compliance with SACCO’s credit policies, SASRA regulations, and the Kenya Financial Institutions Act regarding micro-credit operations.
  • Maintain accurate loan records and prepare regular reports on portfolio performance, arrears, loan losses, and risk assessments for senior management.
  • Ensure that all loan documentation, including agreements and collateral, is complete, secure, and legally binding.

Key Qualifications and Competencies

Academic & Professional Qualifications

  • Minimum Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (C+) Plus.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • A professional qualification diploma in Credit Management e.g., CICM or minimum  CPA section 11
  • Age 30 – 40 years.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in micro-credit or small business lending, preferably within a SACCO, microfinance institution, or bank.
  • Proven track record in credit analysis, portfolio management, and loan recovery.

 

Accounts Assistant

Account assistant bookkeeping tasks such as typing, filing, making phone calls, handling mail and basic bookkeeping. Working directly with the Accounting Officer, helps maintain the office and keep it running smoothly and also deal with customers and external agencies .The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of handling sensitive financial information with confidentiality

Duties and responsibilities

  • Reconciling of all banks accounts;
  • Reconciling of end of day for tellers;
  • Processing internal standing orders;

Call Center Assistant

We are looking for a dedicated and customer-focused Call Center Assistant / Clerk to handle incoming and outgoing calls, provide information, resolve inquiries, and support administrative functions within the call center. Marketing Assistant

The position holder will be responsible for assisting in recruitment of new Members, aggressively approaching potential customers with the aim of winning new business and cross-selling to existing customers. He / She shall be responsible for planning and implementing sales and marketing initiatives to realize set targets in membership growth, maximizing sales profitability, selling of the Sacco’s products and/or related services and activating dormant accounts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Recruiting new members and following up to ensure they don’t fall into dormancy both individual and corporate.
  • Crossing selling of Sacco products as per the set targets.
  • Supporting customer service and work closely with other departments on the execution of service delivery

Loans Assistant

The Loans Assistant supports the loans department in processing, monitoring, and managing member or client loan applications. The role involves ensuring loan documentation is complete, assisting in credit appraisal, maintaining accurate loan records, and offering quality service to members. The Loans Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring that loan processes comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements. Reporting to the Credit officer the individual will be responsible for setting up, maintaining reviewing and documenting effective record custody and retrieval system.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Reconciling the monthly loan and interest deductions received whether paid by cash, check off or standing orders versus monthly installment expected and identify any variance for action.
  • Monthly reconciliation of all loans issued out to ensure they are paid as per loan schedule. This will help to identify the omissions and deduction that may have stopped along the way.
  • Reconciling MOU loans and their salaries to detect any risk that may result to the Sacco loan being unpaid
  • Ensuring that all data on loans and monthly deposits contribution for all members have been captured effectively by either through standing order or check off. Timing and accuracy is key.
  • Ensuring that all counties’ data, TSC, Government Ministries and Parastatal have been captured and delivered to various employers before deadline for closing the payroll in a particular month.
  • Doing monthly reconciliation on standing orders to identify those that might have failed to recover expected funds as set in the system.
  • Doing monthly reconciliation on accounts opened and not being banked in order to arrest dormancy and activate them.
  • Reporting of refunds of overpayment
  • Attending to members queries and Loan appraisal
  • Preparing of deceased claim analysis to the insurance company upon reporting by the family members
  • Performing any other duties that may be assigned by the Senor Loans Officer like verification of member information/documents and chattels registration in the E- registry on microcredit and business loans.

Internal Audit Assistant

Responsible for verifying records posted by other workers, and checking figures and documents to ensure they are accurate and coded properly. Makes notations of error for future corrections.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Working hand in hand with Internal Audit officer
  • Verifying accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers:
  • Checking and verifying data entered into the system on a daily basis to confirm its validity and authenticity.
  • Correcting errors or lists discrepancies for adjustment.
  • Keeping financial records complete, as well as computing and classifying information for that purpose.

Sacco Driver

The SACCO Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently driving Sacco vehicles as required, while ensuring that the assigned vehicle is well-maintained and in good working condition. The driver will also support administrative and logistical operations as directed, maintain high standards of professionalism, and uphold the SACCO’s values when dealing with stakeholder and the public.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Driving Sacco vehicles.
  • Ensuring the vehicle is clean and in good condition;
  • Ensuring that the vehicles are sent for service when due;
  • Reporting promptly and to the right authorities in accordance with the Traffic Act any accident in which the Sacco vehicle is involved;
  • Ensuring that the vehicle insurance and licenses ensuring compliance with traffic act and any other traffic authority
  • Carrying out routine checks on the vehicles cooling oil electrical and brake systems tyre pressure etc.
  • Detecting malfunctioning of vehicles system;

JOB SUMMARY

To ensure optimal performance, availability, security and support of the organization’s databases and business systems, through effective administration, analysis, integration, and continuous improvement of critical applications and data platforms.
