Job Description

The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) was established by an Act of Parliament, Chapter 469 of the laws of Kenya , which became effective on 1st July 1995 . The Authority is charged with the responsibility of collecting revenue on behalf of the Government of Kenya. A Board of Directors, consisting of both public and private sector experts, makes policy decisions to be implemented by KRA Management. The Chairman of the Board is appointed by the President of the Republic of Kenya . The Chief Executive of the Authority is the Commissioner General who is appointed by the Minister for Finance. PURPOSE OF KRA Assessment , Collection, Administration and Enforcement of laws relating to revenue.

Purpose of the job:

Carrying out review of the Authority’s Information System security to ensure technology in place and system controls are adequate.

Key Responsibilities of the job:

  • Execution of corporate Information System (IS) and related security audits.
  • Reviews of internal controls and security of enterprise information systems and IT projects.
  • Preparation of draft audit findings on assessment of systems, processes and operations, and management planned corrective actions.
  • Contribution to and responsible for risk management and internal controls within functional area.
  • Monitoring performance, QMS, and integrity programmes.

Requirements

Academic qualification:

  • Bachelors degree in either Finance, Accounting, Business, Mathematics or Information Technology from a recognized university

Professional qualification:

  • Certification as a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
  • Membership of ISACA or IIA.

Work experience required.

  • Minimum three (3) years’ work experience in Audit, with at least one (1) year in operational IT audit

  • Attention to details and ability to work under minimum supervision.
  • Proactivity and strong interpersonal skills
  • Good communication and presentation skills
