Job Description

The U.S. Embassy to Kenya opened in 1964. Through sixteen Ambassadors since then, the Embassy has enriched the ties between the American and Kenyan people and served the needs of Americans in and around this East African hub. Chief among the U.S. Mission’s goals are fostering the development of a sound Kenyan economy, strengthening the institutions of Kenyan democracy, helping to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS, and promoting U.S./Kenyan business ties.

Duties

This is one of the 4 Supply clerk positions that perform clerical tasks, such as receiving, issuing and inventory of administrative supplies, equipment and FAP to the ICASS agencies. Generates reports in the Integrated Logistics and Management System (ILMS), Fleet Management Information System (FMIS) and Global Acquisition and Assistance System (GLAAS) systems and stores these files until they are due for disposal. Conducts both Expendable (EXP) and Nonexpendable (NXP) property annual inventories. Works under direct supervision of Supply supervisor FSN-805-7 and general supervision by the warehouse supervisor.

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: 

  • At least one to one and a half years of experience in a supply management position utilizing inventory database software is required.

Education Requirements:

  • Completion of Secondary School is required.

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE: Level III English (Good knowledge, reading/writing/speaking) (This may be tested) is required.

Level II Kiswahili (Basic, reading/writing/speaking) also required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Must have good written and oral English language communication skills. Must be able to function with minimal supervision. Must be able to operate material handling equipment (MHE). Must have numerical skills for manipulating data. Customer service is required.
