Job Description

Sustainable Mobility Gender and Inclusion Consultant

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Under the supervision of the Programme Management Officer for Gender, the consultant will conduct the following specific tasks:
  • Support the conceptualization and development of a Global Database on Gender and Electric Mobility, to be embedded within the UNEP Electric Mobility Toolbox
  •  Extract and analyze data from six-country baseline reports and partner contributions and prepare graphically engaging and shareable fact sheets.
  • Develop a white paper providing recommendations on improving gender and e-mobility data collection, analysis, and monitoring.
  • Support the peer-editing and finalization of the Indonesia and Vietnam baseline reports on gender and e-mobility.
  • Prepare documents and visually appealing presentations for global conferences and regional events, applying design tools (e.g., Adobe, Photoshop) in support of the SMU team.
  • Develop a knowledge product on active mobility (e.g., policy brief, case study, guideline, or report) under the UNDA17 project, ensuring responsiveness to stakeholder needs in African countries, in close coordination with UNEP project staff.
  • Provide general support to the project leads of both the BMZ and UNDA17 projects, including preparation and logistical arrangements for events and capacity-building activities.

Qualifications/special skills

  • An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in urban planning, transport or a related field is required.
  • A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • A minimum of two years’ work experience in transport/sustainable mobility projects in low- and middle-income countries is required.
  • Knowledge on gender, inclusion, and road safety issues in South-East Asia and Africa is required.
  • Experience in data collection and research is required
  • Experience in report development is required.
  • Familiarity with gender mainstreaming and electric mobility is highly desirable.
  • Proven analytical, presentation, and communication skills are desirable.
