Job Description

Job purpose:

To oversee the tax department, ensuring compliance with tax laws, and provide strategic tax guidance to our clients

Key roles and responsibilities.

  • *Tax Compliance:* Lead and manage the timely and accurate preparation, filing, and submission of various tax returns for our clients, including income tax, sales tax, and other relevant filings. Stay updated on tax law changes to maintain compliance.
  • *Tax Planning:* Develop and execute tax strategies to optimize our clients’ financial positions while ensuring full compliance with tax laws. Provide expert advice on the tax implications of their business decisions and transactions.
  • *Financial Analysis:* Analyze financial data to identify tax-related opportunities and risks for our clients. Offer strategic recommendations to enhance their financial performance and minimize tax exposure.
  • *Audit Support:* Collaborate closely with external auditors during tax audits on behalf of our clients. Ensure that all necessary documentation and records are readily available for review and assist in resolving any tax-related discrepancies or issues.
  • *Team Management:* Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, assigning tasks and fostering their professional growth. Offer guidance on complex tax matters and promote a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • *Reporting:* Prepare comprehensive tax reports and financial statements for our clients, presenting findings and recommendations to the Tax Partner and clients. Effectively communicate our clients’ tax positions and strategies.
  • *Compliance Monitoring:* Establish and maintain robust internal controls to guarantee ongoing compliance with tax regulations for our clients. Implement industry best practices to mitigate tax-related risks.
  • *Tax Research:* Stay at the forefront of tax law changes, regulations, and accounting standards. Conduct research to address intricate tax issues and provide well-informed recommendations.
  • *Risk Management:* Identify and evaluate tax risks associated with our clients’ business activities. Develop and implement strategies to proactively manage and mitigate these risks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. A master’s degree and CPA certification are typically preferred.
  • Extensive experience in tax management within an audit firm, showcasing your ability to lead and manage a tax team effectively.
  • Profound knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to collaborate effectively with internal teams, external auditors, and government agencies.
  • Proficiency in tax software and financial systems, as well as a solid grasp of audit procedures.
  • Proven leadership and team management abilities, with a commitment to fostering talent within your team.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy and timeliness.
  • Additional qualifications such as Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA) or Advanced Diploma in International Taxation (ADIT) would be considered a significant advantage.
  • Hindi, Gujarati or punjabi professional will be an added advantage.
