Key Duties& Responsibilities

Practice Management

  • Formulating litigation strategies, dispensing legal counsel on diverse matters, and harmonizing legal tactics with firm’s goals.
  • Oversee and effectively monitor all stages of litigation, from pre-litigation settlement discussions to trial and post-trial activities in adherence to the internal process.
  • Allocate resources effectively to meet the demands of various cases and ensure optimal team performance.
  • Establish performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the litigation team.
  • Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on the status of ongoing litigation, significant legal developments and departmental achievements.

Case Management.

  • Build a relationship with our clients as a trusted legal advisor while advising and promptly updating clients on their cases and the developments of the law.
  • Drafting and reviewing of litigation documents including pleadings, notices, affidavits &correspondence.
  • Ensure effective case management through timely filing of documents and adherence to court deadlines.
  • Conducting negotiations with a view to settling potentially litigious matters in the best interest of our client.
  • Attending Courts at all levels including tribunals across the country.
  • Provide legal opinions and advice on any areas of the law arising in civil & commercial litigation.
  • Advising clients competently and confidently on the technical aspects of a wide range of matters particularly in corporate and commercial disputes.
  • Research on diverse range of assigned issues, documents and case history to ensure accuracy of advice and procedures.

Minimum Requirements

  • Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
  • Have at least five (5) years of post-admission commercial litigation experience in a busy law firm.
  • Have current year (2024) Practicing Certificate.
  • Certification in Mediation and Arbitration is an added advantage.
  • Leadership and management experience, with the ability to mentor and develop team members
  • Have good communication, presentation and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage client expectations and great client interview skills;
  • High quality research skills and drafting skills;
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Problem solving skills and strong team player.
