Job Description

Job Purpose:

Join our team as a Technical Stores Keeper to support the smooth operation of the maintenance department by managing technical materials, parts, tools, and equipment. The Ideal candidate will be responsible in ensuring material availability, efficient procurement, and maintaining accurate inventory records. By collaborating with maintenance and production teams, you’ll help minimize downtime, boost productivity, and enhance maintenance operations’ efficiency. Must have a diploma or a degree in Engineering and  more than 3 years of working experience in a similar position or field. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and control inventory, including receiving, storing, and tracking technical items.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and procurement teams for efficient procurement.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular stock checks.
  • Identify obsolete or damaged items and initiate disposal or replacement.
  • Maintain documentation, adhere to safety protocols, and support audits.
  • Keep up to date with relevant products, tools, and technologies.
  • Contribute to process improvements in stores management.
  • Source and select suppliers for technical materials, parts, tools, and equipment.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with procurement policies.
  • Work closely with the maintenance planner to provide necessary materials, parts, and tools for planned maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance engineer in identifying suitable alternatives for unavailable items.
  • Liaise with production personnel to understand their material requirements and ensure timely availability.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to optimize stores management processes and improve efficiency.

Job Qualifications & Experience:

  • Must have a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with technical certifications a plus.
  • Experience as a store’s keeper in a technical or maintenance environment.
  • Strong inventory management knowledge.
  • Familiarity with technical materials and equipment.
  • Proficiency in inventory management systems and MS Office.Organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Procurement experience and negotiation skills.
  • Physical stamina for manual tasks.
  • Adherence to safety protocols.
  • Problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of compliance and regulations.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Adaptability and teamwork skills.
