Job Description

Databit is a limited company that was incorporated on 21st January 1994 in Kenya. Our core business is in the voice, video, and data communication industry. Consequently, since inception, it has been the Company’s policy and commitment to providing an efficient, cost-effective and professional service to our clients. Our customers include financial institutions, the insurance industry, government & non-governmental organizations, manufacturing, UN Agencies, print and electronic media, hospitals, colleges and universities, hospitality industry, among others.

Technical Systems Administrator

Job Summary:

  • We are seeking a Technical Systems Administrator with a strong background in IT and telephony systems to oversee the deployment, maintenance, and support of our clients’ communication infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with structured cabling, Contact Centers, PBX systems, and telephony solutions. This role requires a proactive individual who can manage pre-sales and post-sales activities, provide preventive maintenance, and offer troubleshooting and onsite client support.

Key Responsibilities:

Deployment of Structured Cabling:

  • Design, install, and maintain structured cabling systems for voice and data networks.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.

Deployment of PBX Systems:

  • Install, configure, and optimize Contact Centers and PBX systems.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements and deliver tailored solutions.

Preventive Maintenance of Telephony Clients:

  • Perform regular system checks and updates to ensure optimal performance.
  • Identify and resolve potential issues before they impact operations.

Pre-Sales of Telephony Solutions:

  • Work closely with the sales team to provide technical expertise during the pre-sales process.
  • Develop and present customized telephony solutions to prospective clients.

Post-Sales of Telephony Solutions:

  • Provide technical support and training to clients after implementation.
  • Ensure client satisfaction by addressing any concerns or issues promptly.

Troubleshooting and AMC Support:

  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to telephony systems.
  • Provide AMC support, including regular maintenance and emergency repairs.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed records of installations, maintenance activities, and client interactions.
  • Generate reports on system performance and issue resolution.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT and telephony systems administration.
  • Proven experience with structured cabling, Contact Centers, and PBX systems.
  • Strong knowledge of telephony solutions, including pre-sales and post-sales support.
