Purpose:

To provide vocational and spiritual guidance to staff and students in the University.

Duties and Responsibilities: –

  • Perform religious rites and organize activities to mark religious celebrations;
  • Conduct worship services at the University;
  • Provide confidential counselling;
  • Spiritual guidance to staff and students;
  • Manage ecumenical activities at the University.
  • Organize and pray at University functions as and when required.

Requirements for Appointment: –

  • Must have earned a Master of Divinity degree or its equivalent from an accredited and recognized institution;
  • Must have an Undergraduate degree in Philosophy, Religious Studies or its equivalent from an accredited and recognized institution;
  • Must have served as an ordained church minister in the mainstream churches for at least five (5) years;
  • High Integrity and moral standing;
  • Must have demonstrable ICT and communication skills;
  • Must have dealt with post – secondary school young adults;
  • Demonstrated ability to provide pastoral counselling both to staff and students;
  • Demonstrated ability of an ecumenical approach to issues;
  • Demonstrated experience working in spiritually and culturally diverse settings;
  • Must have excellent professional judgment and discretion; ability to work as part of a team; maintains appropriate confidentiality; models integrity, honesty, trust, and professional ethics.

Candidates interested in the position are expected to fulfil requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya. In this regard, they must submit copies of the following: – 

  • Certificate of good conduct from Director, Criminal Investigations (DCI)
  • Clearance certificate from Higher Educations Loans Board (HELB)
  • Tax Compliance certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
  • Clearance from the Ethics & Anti – Corruption Commission (EACC)
  • Clearance from the Credit Reference Bureau
