Job Description

DotConnectAfrica (DCA) is a not-for-profit Pan-African organization that was formed with a charitable mission and objective to advance education in the digital economy in the African society

Role Description

  • This is a full-time hybrid role for a Webmaster Intern located in Nairobi County, Kenya, with flexibility for some remote work. The Webmaster Intern will develop and maintain the company’s website, including implementing design changes and integrating e-commerce functionality. The Webmaster Intern will also assist with programming and project management and conduct web analytics to monitor website performance.
  • We seek skilled and motivated Webmaster interns to join our dynamic team and play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing our websites and servers. As a Webmaster, you will be responsible for developing WordPress websites, ensuring our web infrastructure’s smooth functioning, security, and efficiency, including DNS services.

Preferred Skills:

  • WordPress administration or related fields.
  • Familiarity with updating of plugins and themes
  • Exposure to server virtualization and cloud infrastructure platforms.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with cPanel/WHM or other hosting control panels.
  • Understanding of web analytics tools for website performance analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • Additional qualifications that would be beneficial: knowledge of content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress, familiarity with web development tools, understanding of SEO best practices, and experience with graphic design software.
