Job Description

Kenchic Limited is the leading producer of poultry in East and Central Africa. At its inception, the company’s main activity was the production of broiler and layer day-old chicks. Over the years the company has expanded operations to include processed chicken and further processed products. The company started its operations in 1984. The company’s Head Office is in Exsan House along Enterprise road. Kenchic is proud to be the largest integrated poultry operation in East and Central Africa and deals in day-old chicks, processed chicken meat and further processed products such as smoked sausages, choma sausages & sausages.

Welder

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • To fabricate, assemble, and repair metal structures and equipment in line with technical drawings and safety standards to ensure operational efficiency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cut, shape, and weld metal components using appropriate welding methods (MIG, TIG, Arc)
  • Fabricate and repair machinery, equipment, and structural components
  • Inspect welds to ensure quality and compliance with specifications
  • Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Always adhere to health and safety and Biosecurity regulations
  • Report defects and recommend corrective action

CANDIDATE’S PROFILE:

  • Certificate or Diploma in Welding / Fabrication or related field
  • Valid welding certification preferred
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ relevant experience
  • Ability to read technical drawings
  • Knowledge of metal properties and welding techniques
