Job Description

Delsco is a Kenyan registered management consulting firm with its office at Magharibi Place, Opposite Tmall (Tuskys Mall) Langata, 2nd Floor office 2B1. The firm started its operations in 2002 and has developed successful business relationships with several corporate clients across several industries, mainly in the services sector

Job Summary:

We are seeking a professional and knowledgeable Wine Steward/Waiter, preferably a mature gentleman aged 28 years and above. The ideal candidate will be proficient in English and possess basic service and wine knowledge, with a willingness to undergo further training. This role focuses on providing exceptional service to our customers, ensuring a memorable experience with every visit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and serve customers in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring high standards of customer satisfaction.
  • Provide knowledgeable recommendations on wine selections and pairings, offering detailed descriptions of various wines.
  • Take orders accurately and deliver beverages promptly.
  • Ensure that all wine and beverage service areas are kept clean, tidy, and well-stocked.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory and conducting regular stock checks.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and safe environment for both staff and customers.
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally, escalating issues to the Operations Manager when necessary.
  • Participate in staff training sessions to enhance wine knowledge and service skills.
  • Set up tables and ensure the dining area is prepared before service hours.
  • Process transactions using the POS system efficiently and accurately.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Preferably a mature gentleman aged 28 years and above.
  • Proficient in English, with excellent communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of service standards and practices in a high-end dining environment.
  • Basic understanding of wines, with a willingness to undergo further training.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
  • Strong customer service skills and a professional demeanor.

  • Full-time position with flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
  • Initial probation period of 3 months, with the possibility of extending to 6 months based on performance.
