Workshop Supervisor

Our client, an established engineering company dealing in heavy equipment maintenance and repair, seeks an experienced Workshop Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan workshop activities, allocate jobs and supervise technicians and mechanics.
  • Oversee servicing, troubleshooting, repairs and overhauls of drilling rigs, compressors, trucks and associated equipment.
  • Guide the team in diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults.
  • Inspect completed work and ensure equipment is tested before release.
  • Coordinate spare parts, tools and materials required for each job.
  • Maintain job cards, service records and workshop progress reports.
  • Coordinate on-site repairs and communicate job progress to customers.
  • Enforce workshop safety, housekeeping and proper use of equipment.

Requirements

  • Diploma or higher qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Plant Mechanics or a related field.
  • At least 5 years’ relevant maintenance and repair experience, including 2 years supervising a workshop team.
  • Strong practical knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems and compressors.
  • Experience with drilling rigs, construction equipment, mining machinery or other heavy equipment.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and service manuals.
  • Strong leadership, planning, troubleshooting and communication skills.
  • Direct experience servicing and overhauling drilling rigs will be an added advantage.
