Job Description

Mr. Green Africa is a Nairobi-based recycling start-up whose vision is to change people’s perceptions towards.

Summary

The Channel Development Coordinator will be tasked with the responsibility of managing new Plastic Sourcing channels i.e Aggregators and Franchises within the assigned market through building a customer base that will complement the mainstream Sourcing channels sustainably. He/She will work with business stakeholders in the assigned markets to profile, recruit and successfully onboard new agents as well as oversee supplier activations and other activities within his/her territory.

  • He/She expands the customer base by conducting studies to identify potential growth areas and planning new campaigns.
  • He/She possesses strong technical product knowledge and cultural awareness of the customer demographic in his/her assigned market. He/She is creative and resourceful, and has good communication and negotiation skills.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Identity and profile new markets for channel development
  • Design and development of Franchise & Aggregator play book
  • Recruit and Onboard new Franchisees and Aggregators as per the play book
  • Selling the value proposition to that targeted agents
  • Incentive plan
  • Training on plastic & processes
  • Technical training on clerk app
  • Facilitation of tools of work
  • Manage and execute activations & campaigns to improve marketing effectiveness and
  • Continuous monitoring & Evaluation
  • Audit risks and take mitigation measures to curb the risks return-on-investment (ROI) within all the Agent networks
  • Analyze new market trends, business opportunities and market segments in the local landscape.
  • Analyze performance of agents and take prompt corrective measures to mitigate against any losses
  • Gather market intelligence and report accordingly with proposed mitigation strategies
  • Implement customer attraction and retention strategies to improve customer loyalty within the agent network such as Tea Parties, Health days etc..
  • Manage service agreements with the agents.
  • Negotiate with domestic partners on new and on-going business collaborations.

Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)

  • Number of new agents successfully onboarded
  • Number of active agents sourcing at the desired volume threshold
  • Delivery of sourced volumes targets in the right product mix as per the budget model
  • Supplier acquisition as per targets
  • Supplier retention rates above 80% MoM and quarterly
  • Supplier satisfaction rate with NPS of 8 and above
  • Troubleshooting of Issues & resolution rates as per supplier complaints (must be within 24 hours)
  • Channel profitability
  • Regional growth rates

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent qualification
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data manipulation, formulae, pivot tables, and data visualization.
  • 3-5 years experience in managing retail and last mile distribution
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven leadership skills and team management
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Ability to collect and report data accurately
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to extract insights from complex datasets.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills to ensure accuracy in data analysis and reporting.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to present findings and recommendations clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Honest, independent, proactive and reliable worker
