Job Description

e-commerce solution revolutionizing car ownership in sub-Saharan Africa. We started with an automotive marketplace, leveraging technology and robust offline operations to reduce pain points in the market for locally-used vehicles, delivering quality, convenience, and value to our customers.

Role Description

To date Peach’s IT department has consisted of one IT Officer. The existing IT officer is in need of an Intern who can support a diverse set of responsibilities – including system maintenance, user support and project management. As Peach continues to grow, we see this Intern staying on to continue to meet the demands of IT infrastructure and support our capabilities.

Roles and responsibilities

The IT Intern will be responsible for:

  • Technical Support: Provide technical assistance and support to our employees, addressing hardware and software issues promptly to minimize downtime and enhance productivity.
  • System Maintenance: Assist in the maintenance and monitoring of computer systems, networks, and servers to ensure smooth operations and security of data.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with the existing IT member to develop and implement IT policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and security standards are met.
  • Training: Aid in conducting training sessions for employees to enhance their IT skills and awareness about cybersecurity best practices.
  • Problem Resolution: Investigate, diagnose, and solve computer software and hardware faults, guiding users with step-by-step solutions.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of IT processes, issues, resolutions, configurations, and system changes for future reference.
  • Assist in IT Projects: Contribute actively to ongoing IT projects, providing valuable assistance in research, planning, and implementation phases

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Telecommunications or related field
  • 0-1 years relevant work experience
  • Experience in systems administration, active directory, troubleshooting and helpdesk
  • Knowledge of multi-operating systems such as Windows, Mac and Linux
  • Knowledge of IT security and asset management

The candidate should-

  • Have good communication skills (both written and spoken)
  • Be able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Be able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Be a good problem solver and have the ability to collaborate with team members
